Résumé

This book analyzes regionalism and the integration process through a linguistic and socio-discursive lens, combining constructivist and realist perspectives. Using the European Union as the primary case, it explains how culture, identity, norms, and discourse shape institutions and foreign-policy coordination, and how major-power dynamics and power redistribution condition integration. It then situates “new regionalism” within globalization, discussing region-building mechanisms, institutional design choices (rigid vs. flexible), and comparative experiences in Asia (ASEAN, APEC). The study highlights integration’s drivers, constraints, and implications for global governance.
