الملخص
Removal of persistent organic pollutants by adsorption onto innovative materials is an academic scientific book focused on the environmental removal of persistent organic pollutants, especially herbicides such as glyphosate and metribuzin. The book first explains the nature of POPs, their persistence, toxicity, transport in air, soil and water, and their risks for ecosystems, agriculture and human health. It then presents herbicides in detail, including their classification, historical development, environmental behavior, degradation, and specific persistence of glyphosate and metribuzin. The second part develops the theoretical foundations of adsorption as a treatment method, covering physisorption, chemisorption, diffusion mechanisms, adsorption kinetics, isotherms, and models such as Langmuir, Freundlich, BET, Temkin, Elovich and pseudo-order kinetic models. The work then introduces zeolites, their structure, classification, synthesis, applications and environmental value, with particular attention to sodalite and kaolin. Later chapters examine biodegradable polymers, especially PCL, their degradation mechanisms, synthesis routes and applications. The final section discusses nanocomposites, polymer/clay systems, their structures, properties and uses in environmental, industrial, medical and pharmaceutical fields. The tone is technical, scientific and pedagogical, intended for researchers, students and specialists in chemistry, materials science and environmental remediation.
