Abstract

Green Corrosion Inhibition of Metals examines corrosion as an electrochemical interfacial process and develops the scientific basis for environmentally responsible inhibition strategies. The book reviews major corrosion forms and aggressive acidic environments, then explains inhibitor classification, adsorption, charge-transfer effects, and protective film formation at metal-solution interfaces. Particular attention is given to plant-derived extracts, phytochemical families, and the factors governing their performance. The final chapters explore synergistic formulations, including halide-assisted effects, together with reproducibility, scale-up, toxicology, standardization, and long-term application challenges. The volume links fundamental corrosion science with current priorities for sustainable metal protection and evidence-based inhibitor development.
